now I have watched "The Cove"
and in some extent have getten basic knowledge of whaling in Japan
the next thing I am supposed to do is
make a formal outline
collect more than 40 sources
so I am now reading some books and articles on web
and also collecting some comments about the movie from ordinary people

I think you meant "pieces of information" rather than sources when you said you need to "collect more than 40 sources."
40 sources is a lot! Just information that you might use in your paper.
